Be careful, if you’re in Europe or Japan, you may have noticed a change in your Instagram stats!
Since December 1, 2020 in Europe and April 14, 2021 in Japan, you can no longer see the number of replies to your stories. What for? This is linked to new regulations on the protection of personal data, such as the famous GDPR in Europe.
Let’s explain it simply: replies to stories are considered private messages between you and your followers. As a result, Instagram has excluded them from account statistics to respect everyone’s privacy.
But that’s not all! If you’re elsewhere in the world, you should know that responses from European and Japanese users are no longer counted in your stats either. It’s a bit as if these interactions become invisible to the eyes of algorithms.
Don’t worry, your followers can still reply to your stories! It’s just that you won’t have precise figures on these interactions anymore. Think of it as an opportunity to focus on the quality rather than the quantity of your exchanges with your community.
