How do I use the universal label?
Introduction
Universal mention is a very useful feature if you regularly mention pages or people, or if you use our MagicDaily AI.
Perform a global search to mention your networks in just one click. Ideal, for example, for news organizations, public figures or institutions.
It’s also the ideal tool for mentioning the same people and pages on several social networks.
Which social networks are compatible?
Today, the universal mention is compatible with the following social networks (compatible with the mention simply 😉):
- X (Twitter)
How do I use the Universal Mention tool?
It’s very simple.
Just follow these simple steps
- Click on the “@” icon in the toolbar
- You will have 2 solutions at this stage:
- If you’ve already added the entry in the tool, it will automatically be saved in this list. Perform a small search and then click on add this entry.
- If you haven’t mentioned this page yet, just click on Add a universal mention. Perform a search, and we’ll try to match the different accounts to each platform.
- Click on add this entry
- Your reference will appear in blue under your text. By selecting it, you can cut and paste it to the desired location.
How do I add a new universal mention?
- Click on the “@” icon in the toolbar
- Then click on “add a mention”.
- You’ll then be able to add and save mentions for each compatible platform. If the mentions displayed don’t match, simply click on the basket on the right and carry out a specific manual search for that platform.
- If you’ve already mentioned Instagram and X, the mentions will be displayed as standard, so you won’t need to click on the search icon. Otherwise, enter the page name and click on the search icon. Our algorithm will search several databases for similar information to find the right profile. For these 2 platforms, we don’t use the official APIs as they are limited.
- Once you’ve found all the profiles you need, give your entry a default name (useful for searches and when you don’t have a social network account).
- Your entry will be automatically saved in your DailySpace so you can easily reuse it.
How do you find universal mentions that have already been created?
As a reminder, as soon as you add a universal mention to a post, we save it in your DailySpace. So you can easily reuse it for your social networks.
- Click on the “@” icon in the toolbar to access our Universal Mention feature.
- Then click on “Manage mentions” (if you’re not already on it).
- You can then search for entries that have already been created.
- Once you’ve found your group of mentions, you can :
- Add to post with the “Add this comment” button
- Check “Display mention on social networks that don’t support it”. By default, the mention will be disabled on non-compatible channels or if no mention is entered.
- Modify or delete this group of mentions
How do I modify/delete a group of mentions?
- To modify a group of mentions in our Universal Mention feature, simply click on the @.
- Then click on “Manage mentions” (if you’re not already on it).
- You can then search for the entries you wish to modify/delete.
- Once you’ve found your group of mentions, simply click on the 3 dots to the right of the mentions block (see image below).
- You can then modify or delete a group of mentions.
If you modify a group that is already mentioned in your post. You'll have to delete it, modify the group and then add it back to your post.
What is the "Show mentions on networks that don't support it" option?
As our tool is not yet compatible with the various social networks (it should be soon 🤩) and as sometimes pages/persons don’t have accounts on all platforms, we have developed this feature.
Once ticked, it allows you to display the default name of your group instead of displaying nothing.
In fact, if we don’t find a mention for the social network, we don’t display it at all.
The mention will be grayed out in the text field, as in the image below.
By right-clicking right-click on the greyed-out entryyou’ll be able to display the default name of the entry as text (this will be text only, not a clickable entry).
